Patient Care Coordinator

Originally from the Czech Republic, Angelika has worked as a Patient Coordinator in Dr. LaVecchia’s office for nearly 20 years ensuring patients receive the highest possible standard of care. She sees Dr. LaVecchia and the patients as members of her family and aims to treat them as such.

When she’s not working, you can find Angelika exploring Old Town Alexandria or binge-watching shows like The Crown or Bridgerton.

She enjoys drinking coffee, spending time with Theo, her Cavapoo puppy, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Patient Care Coordinator

Originally born and raised in San Jose, CA, Leslie has been working in the dental field for the past seven years. She previously worked in hospitality at the Westin hotels for six years. 

Her passion and experience have inspired her to proceed with a career in business management. Leslie makes the patients feel at ease by building confidence and trust with each patient.

In her spare time, Leslie enjoys spending quality time with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs.

Dental Assistant & Patient Care Coordinator

Laura is originally from Cleveland, Ohio but moved to Arlington in 2015 when she first joined Dr. LaVecchia’s team. She started her dental assisting career by taking a Red Cross dental assisting course in Ramstein, Germany while working with the US Air Force.

Laura currently lives in Fredericksburg, so she has a long commute, but it’s worth the journey to work with the patients and team at Dr. LaVecchia’s dental practice.

In her spare time, Laura and her husband love taking their dogs on hikes and riding their motorcycles!

Dental Assistant & Clinical Coordinator

Monica has over 20 years of experience as a dental assistant, 16 of those working for Dr. LaVecchia! She has a strong bond with the patients after all these years! Monica also is the practice clinical coordinator. 

Monica has a son and a daughter who both practice Tae Kwon Do and they love traveling around the country for tournaments! Monica also has a Maltese dog named Louie who is 16 years old!

Dental Assistant

Selam was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and has lived in Northern Virginia since 2003. 

Selam is a certified Dental Assistant who received her training and certification from ACT College in Northern Virginia in 2005. Her decade-long experience, gentle touch, and friendly chairside manner ensure her patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their visit. 

When Selam is not in the office, she likes to spend time with her family, particularly her daughters, Sinna and Heran.

Dental Hygienist

Janice is a graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.

Janice has known Dr. LaVecchia and Dr. McIntire for over 20 years! Janice has seen first hand the devotion and kindness the doctors bestow upon their patients and this patient-centered philosophy continues to inspire her in her work.

Janice is passionate about educating her patient about oral health and providing a caring and compassionate dental experience for her patients. 

Dental Hygienist

Arlene graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor's Degree of Health Sciences in Dental Hygiene in 2011. She has been a part of Dr. Lavecchia's team since she moved here from Virginia Beach in 2016. 

Arlene strives to make the patient as comfortable as possible while in the dental chair. Not many people like coming to the dentist, so she wants to make sure the patient has the best experience and has all the knowledge regarding their oral health.

Outside of the office she loves spending time with her husband, Andrew, and her two handsome boys, Andrew Jr. and Ace. She loves to travel and explore the world - eating her way through every city in every country. She also loves hiking and working out to balance all the delicious goodness she eats. 

Dental Hygienist

Leni graduated with Honors in 2006 from NVCC with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Prior to practicing as a Dental Hygienist, she worked as a Dental Technician in both Brazil and the US. She is licensed in Virginia and is certified to deliver local anesthesia.

In order to provide the best care for her patients, to stay informed of new technologies and hygiene products, Leni often attends continuing education classes. In addition, she meets with other dental professionals, to discuss creative ways to provide the best patient care available. Her enthusiasm and love for her profession are truly valued by her patients and coworkers. 

Leni loves to travel, get together with friends, sport (she is a die-hard Caps fan!), and loves to ride motorcycles with her husband on the open road.

Dental Hygienist

Donna is a Virginia native, having grown up in Alexandria. She graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2000, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.

Donna is dedicated to helping create healthy and beautiful smiles for patients as well as building lasting relationships with them.

When Donna isn’t working, she enjoys painting, reading, and cheering on the Washington Nationals!
